These documents establish website rules and disclosures but cannot prevent every claim or replace advice from a lawyer familiar with the Site Operator’s circumstances and applicable state law.
1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy explains how USACitizenshipTest.com (the “Site Operator,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you visit or use the website. The Service does not require a user account or use MySQL. It does not govern third-party websites linked from our pages.
2. Information stored on your device
The application uses browser local storage to save unfinished tests, selected answers, scores, recent attempts and question-level progress. This detailed, resumable progress remains in the browser on the device where it was created and is not connected to a name or email account.
You can remove this data by clearing site data in your browser. Private-browsing modes may remove it automatically. Removing it is permanent and prevents restoration of local progress.
2A. Anonymous usage statistics
Unless you turn this feature off, the application sends only two first-party events: when a test is started and when that same test is finished. Each record contains a random attempt identifier, start and optional completion timestamps, and a broad device category. Desktop means a viewport of at least 1024 pixels; mobile includes tablets and smaller viewports. Resuming a saved test does not create another start.
The record does not include your name, email address, account, answers, scores, question identifiers, test type, pass/fail result, IP address, geographic location or immigration information. Ordinary server infrastructure may temporarily process an IP address to deliver the request, but the learning analytics database does not store it.
We use these records only to calculate aggregate starts, completions, completion versus drop-off percentage, and desktop/mobile distribution. You can turn collection on or off in My Progress, and Global Privacy Control is respected. Turning it off does not delete progress stored locally on your device.
3. Technical information processed by hosting services
Like most websites, our hosting, security, caching and content-delivery providers may automatically process technical information such as IP address, date and time, requested URL, response status, referring page, browser type, device information and security events. This information is used to deliver pages, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, maintain security and understand aggregate service performance.
5. Analytics services
We use Extreme Tracking and Google Analytics to measure visits, traffic sources, page usage, general device and browser characteristics, approximate geographic information, and interaction or session statistics. Depending on the provider and configuration, the information processed may include IP-derived information, referring pages, requested pages, dates and times, browser and device information, online identifiers and on-site activity.
We use this information to understand aggregate website use, maintain performance, identify technical or usability issues, and improve content and study features. We use these services for analytics purposes and not for selling personal information. We do not sell analytics information collected through the website, and we do not use it to operate a data-broker service or to sell visitor profiles.
Extreme Tracking and Google may process information on our behalf or under their own applicable terms and privacy policies. Google states that Google Analytics customers control collection and retention settings and that Google Analytics processes data on behalf of customers under applicable data-processing terms. Advertising, Google AdSense and affiliate programs
We may use Google AdSense and other advertising technology providers to display, deliver and measure advertisements. Depending on consent, configuration and applicable law, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. Advertising processing may include selecting and delivering ads, frequency control, performance measurement, aggregate audience insights, product improvement, security, fraud prevention and detection of invalid traffic.
Google and other third parties may place and read cookies in your browser or use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers as a result of advertising on this website. For visitors in regions where consent or opt-out notice is required, Google Privacy & messaging or another Google-certified platform presents the applicable European or U.S. message and communicates the resulting privacy signals to Google advertising services. The interface identifies participating providers and purposes where applicable. You may reopen it through Privacy and cookie settings.
Some links and banners are affiliate links. The Site Operator may receive compensation when a visitor follows an affiliate link and completes a qualifying action. Affiliate destinations receive ordinary connection data and any information you provide to them under their own privacy policies. Affiliate compensation does not increase the price charged by this website, and we do not sell practice-test progress.
Optional translation service
When you select Translate for a question, the English question and answer choices are sent from your browser to the MyMemory translation service. MyMemory may receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address and browser details under its own terms and privacy practices. The application does not include your test score, saved progress or selected answer in the translation request. Translated text is cached in local storage on your device to reduce repeat requests. If you do not use the translation control, the application does not send question text to the translation service.
6. How information is used
Technical and analytics information may be used to measure audience and page usage, understand traffic sources, improve content and study features, operate and secure the Service, troubleshoot failures, enforce the Terms, comply with law, and prevent fraud or abuse. Minimal first-party usage records measure starts, completions and broad device category; detailed progress, answers and scores remain on the device.
8. Retention
Browser progress remains until you or the browser removes it. Minimal first-party usage records are automatically removed after 24 months. Analytics information is retained according to our settings with Extreme Tracking and Google Analytics and the providers’ applicable retention practices. Hosting and security logs are retained according to operational, security and legal needs.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the Service. No internet service, browser storage or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for device and browser security, particularly on shared devices.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly request or collect personal information directly from children under 13. Because practice data stays locally in the browser, parents or guardians should supervise a child’s use and may clear the device’s site data. If you believe a child submitted personal information to us, contact us.
11. Privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or appeal. Because the application has no accounts and the minimal usage records contain only a random per-test identifier, we generally cannot link such a record back to a person. Requests concerning technical or third-party analytics data may require verification, may need to be addressed through the relevant provider, and may be subject to legal exceptions.
Where applicable, U.S. residents may exercise available state privacy rights through the consent platform. We do not sell personal information or analytics information collected through the website and will not discriminate against a person for exercising an applicable privacy right.
12. Privacy and advertising choices
We do not sell locally stored practice progress or operate a data-broker service. Google Privacy & messaging or another Google-certified consent platform presents applicable European consent choices and U.S. state opt-out choices. Use Privacy and cookie settings to review or change available choices. Global Privacy Control is respected where supported and applicable. You can also use browser controls, Google’s Ads Settings, and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Necessary hosting and security processing may continue.
13. International visitors
The website is directed primarily to people preparing for U.S. naturalization but may be accessed elsewhere. Technical information may be processed in countries where the Site Operator or service providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards and legal requirements.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the Service, service providers or legal requirements change. The effective date will be revised, and material changes may be highlighted where appropriate.
